Love Locked Down

May 4, 2011

It goes without saying that Paris is the “City of Love”.  You can’t get away from it here.  Couples are everywhere: walking hand-in-hand down the majestic boulevards, stealing a kiss or two in the park, or taking in the sun, faces raised to the sky and backs leaned up against the quai by the Seine.

There’s really no questioning that this city provokes this feeling – brings out the love.  Who wouldn’t feel all giddy in Paris?

Yet unbeknownst to me, the city also protects it.  Locks it away.  Keeps it chained to the ground and kept safe in the land of romance.

If you’re on your way to gay Par-ee don’t forget to pack a padlock and plan a stroll to the Pont de l’Archevêché to declare your flame and chain your sentiments to the fence facing Nôtre Dame.
